Our singles holiday on the island of Sardinia will bring the most unique and inspiring moments bursting with the rustic charm of Italian life.
At the relaxing centre of the Mediterranean Sea with Corsica to its north, Sardinia has long straight coastlines illuminated by sapphire blue waters and sun glowing sands. Begin your single travels at the beach and plan your days full of the surrounding nature and character left by visiting Roman and Catalonian tribes in its earlier history.
Days will be inspired by the love of fresh Italian cuisine, a real laid back atmosphere to submerge yourself into the delights of the island. Your evenings in Sardinia are wonderful for a gentle repose as time slows down and you can sit back with a glass of wine. Admire the scenery and others company with delicious food in abundance.
The island of Sardinia is flowing with passionate journeys into the culture of Italy, and is a perfect blend of warmth, panoramic views and idyllic towns to explore. As far as singles holidays go, this is a real treat!
Our Resort - Alghero
Crumbling harbour walls give Alghero a distinctive allure in the northwest of Sardinia. The town has the trademarks of Catalan history, with remnants of beautiful structures and even the language still spoken to this day. Coupled with Italy’s modern day lifestyle, you are placed well within a surprising and incomparable backdrop.
Alghero is lavished with all the elements to make the most incredible destination for solo travellers, at just the right pace to suit everyone. The air fills your sense of adventure through narrow streets, beyond storied churches and into medieval towns. A venture onto the beach will transport you directly into a peaceful moment with beautiful flowers and rocky mountainsides as your accompanying view.
The scent of fresh pine woods breezes through the air as a stretch of wooded land fronts this four star hotel and leads onto the beach of Maria Pia. The Oasis Hotel is a modern facility with apartments and rooms spread over three floors, catering for a friendly atmosphere. Amenities are an arms reach away and the staff welcome visitors to neatly presented grounds from the swimming pool to every guests bedroom.
On site facilities include the tennis courts for an hour or two of sport, a large pool to swim a few lengths and a mini golf course to knock a hole in one! Shops, a bar and restaurant are a delight while the sun terrace will take care of your resting time.
Within ten minutes is the centre of Alghero and plenty of charming features. It is no wonder the Hotel Oasis has been a popular resort as it is a wonderfully located base for this Sardinian Island holiday.
The Oasis Hotel has three floors of comfortable 120 air conditioned guest rooms with an openness that brings in the fresh air. All rooms have balconies overlooking the swimming pool or out into the beachside atmosphere and with a private bathroom kept in pristine condition, telephone, safe box and telephone.
Restaurant, swimming pool and sun terrace, two bars, lounge area, games and TV rooms, disco veranda, open garden space, internet access - Wi-Fi area. Tennis court and accompanied mini-tennis court, mini golf partnership with beach lidos.
Become part of Sardinia’s history as you navigate cobbled roads with finely detailed houses and monuments of special interest. Travel through the islands layers of culture and immerse yourself in the welcoming atmosphere at the beaches or protected heritage sites. Sardinia is the place of your utmost relaxation and fascination, with an incredible amount to enjoy.
The second largest city of the second largest island in the Mediterranean is home to the humbling beauty of cobbled avenues, architectural sights and little open squares that shout Italy from the heart. In Sassari you will find an incredible collection of artwork from a history decorated with an interest in the arts.
Old buildings give a powerful impression on the areas character, most significantly a surrounding wall that dates back to thirteenth century Pisan, Genoese and Aragonese colonies depicts part of the islands history. More notable sights of interest include the symbolic Fountain of Rosello, step pyramid structure at Monte d’Accoddi and any one of the many museums and inspiring churches.
The Sardinian Horse Ride
Sardinians celebrate a profound relationship with the horse and this particular ride has been enjoyed for over a century. A monument in the Piazza d’Italia embraces the special interest of Vittorio Emanuele II and provides the region with a vibrant atmosphere each year at the end of May.
History is the heartbeat that runs through the slight roads of Alghero and into ancient piazzas. Alghero has the dual identity of a Catalan occupied past and todays Italian romances, with signs written in both languages for its population.
The air is full of elegance and a relaxed vibe, characterised by the sandy beaches and labyrinth of tight streets without the crowds of vehicles to provide the sense of freedom. Alghero is surrounded by beauty and fascinating places to visit just a short distance away.
The Doria family of Genoa built the historic castle here in the 11th century and from there, a village was born. Castelsardo is a medieval town on the North coast of Sardinia with a degree of sophisticated palace architecture and megalithic structures to fulfil your intrigue. Five thousand people call Castelsardo home and an elephant shaped rock beguiles visitors whilst also being a symbol of the whole island.
The Gulf of Asinara is the location of this Sardinian City, famous for its commercial awareness throughout history and especially under the Roman empire of Julius Caesar. Laying the foundations of todays infrastructure and maintaining the charm of ancient remains, Porto Torres has connections by ferry to a number of cities including Genoa, Marseille and Barcelona.
Memorable sites will take you beyond the holiday of a lifetime such as the remains of an unique Roman bridge, catacombs of Tanca Borgona and the marble and granite Basilica of San Gavino.
Asinara National Park
Previously, Asinara was an island for the criminals of Italy during the seventies. The high security prison allowed inmates to be the only audience to a remarkable habitat of wild animals during this time. Today Asinara is recognised as a National Park for visitors to witness the incredible wildlife and scenery. Horses, boar and sheep roam freely across the park and along the beaches, while white donkeys are a spectacular sight at this utterly jaw-dropping destination.
Capo Caccia and Isola Piana
Protruding from a limestone rock above the sea and just a few kilometres from Alghero, Capo Caccia is the site of a marvellous three hundred metre cliff side and underground network of caves. The marina of this area has a rich quality observed and protected by Sardinia, providing a much loved location for travellers to delve into thousands of metres of the impressive Grotta di Nettuno.
Adrenaline rush on the water
Sporting individuals will be absorbed by the facilities for tennis, football and swimming among beaches where the possibilities for water sports open up another level of excitement. Windsurfing, canoeing and sailing are popular, as well as diving and snorkelling in Asinara for the underwater enthusiasts. With so much clear water surrounding your beachside holiday, enjoy a cooling splash and challenge yourself to something new!
